Industry Update
What’s your simulator skill level? Handicapping has arrived for screen golf.
Alt-golf isn’t the game Ben Hogan knew — it’s the modern alternative built for simulators, launch monitors, and gamified ranges. And it’s wildly popular: of the 48.1 million Americans who play golf, roughly 38 million play some form of alt-golf, while about 19 million have never even stepped on a real course. Like traditional golf, it’s built for competition — tournaments, leagues, long-drive and closest-to-the-pin contests draw everyone from Topgolf first-timers to TGL Tour pros.

Sorting 15 affiliate programs into a usable shortlist is the real challenge — some are obvious wins, a few are obvious passes, and the rest depend on what else you’re already promoting. With golfers spending over $2,000 a year on average, the audience is real — but only if you point them at programs worth the rotation. Each program is scored on commissions, product mix, and how seamless the experience is.
